ACPO comment on police timesheets
ACPO lead for Finance and Resources, Chief Constable Tim Brain, said: “ACPO has already reviewed the usefulness of Home Office Activity Based Costing and has developed alternative less bureaucratic measures of greater value. In December, ACPO took the decision that forces would be no longer be required to continue with this bureaucratic process. Today’s announcement will confirm that earlier decision. “As we move into an era with renewed focus on policing which meets local priorities, any reductions in centrally mandated performance targets that can be translated into real change on the ground will help frontline police officers deliver policing tailored to the needs of each neighbourhood.”
